The Worst Education System

The Education system in India is one of worst education system that you can ever have. We give a lot of importance to education, ones future depends on how highly qualified he/she is. We have to study subjects that we are not even interested in and which will never help us in our lives. In a good education system one should be able to gage his/her capability at an early age and educate himself/herself accordingly to his/her interests in life.

What do people actually mean when they say that someone is well educated?
Here we have books written by different authors that we have to study and every individual can decide which author’s book he/she wants to study. My question is “Why should we believe the authors who have written these books?” Is it just because a bunch of people sitting in a room decided that this is important and should be added to the education system?
So what it all comes down to is how good a person is at replicating the knowledge in those books! Is that the real meaning of being well educated or intelligent? This brings me down to a conclusion to say that parroting a book is equivalent to intelligence.

No Thinkers only Parrots
The people we call graduates are the ones who have been excellent at replicating the knowledge they have got from books. Is this the real meaning of intelligence? At campus interviews it’s not always the top rankers who get selected into the best companies, ever thought why? This is because companies look for people who can think out of the box, come up with new ideas, etc. These people are very rare nowadays. The schools and colleges that we have right now do not allow student to be innovative.  It’s all about completing the syllabus! Every school and college will deny this, however this is a fact! This is a fight that every literate person has to fight. With all the competition in todays world people have forgotten to follow their passion! Everyone wants to or is made to study just for the sake of graduating. Let’s face the facts not everyone works in the stream they have studied; Ever thought why? Mukesh Ambani was educated at Abaay Morischa School in Mumbai and completed his graduation with a bachelor`s degree in chemical engineering from the UDCT, now known as the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. Do you think he has done justice to his degree?

On the other hand we have people like Albert Einstein who never went to school, Dhirubhai Ambani was not educated Michael Dell, Mark Zuckerberg who were college drop outs. These are the most successful people that we know of.
No offense intended to anyone, I am a student myself. All I think and want you all to know is don’t always replicate; Innovate, let the people around you know you for “your own” ideas and not your educational qualifications.
I’ll leave you with this thought “Thinkers are the ones who can make changes for a better tomorrow not parrots”.

                                                                                                                                        Vicky Chaudhary.
